Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, right? Sometimes Christmas is just as chaotic as any other time. How can Advent help? This Sunday we reflect on the Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6-7
What are you willing to take up arms for?
Lately, what has been getting under your skin?
What makes your blood boil?
Who do you regularly “go to battle” with?

Romans 5:1 – We are justified by faith and have peace with God through Jesus Christ.
Romans 8:6 – The mind set on the Spirit is peace. Romans 12:18 Be at peace with all men.
Romans 14:17 – Kingdom of God is righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Galatians 5:22 – Fruit of the Spirit is peace.
Ephesians 2:14 – Christ is our peace.
Ephesians 4:3 – Preserve unity through peace.
Ephesians 6:14-15 – Armor of God — gospel of peace.
Philippians 4:7 – We Experience peace through prayer, sup- plication, and thanksgiving.
Colossians 3:15 – Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts.
2 Thessalonians 3:16 – May the Lord of peace Himself con-
tinually grant you peace.
1 Timothy 3:3 – Leaders (within the church) must be peace-loving.
2 Timothy 2:22 – Pursue peace.
Titus 3:2 – Remind Christians to malign no one, but instead,
be peaceable.
James 3:17 – Wisdom from above is peaceable.
1 Peter 3:11 (Psalm 34) – Seek peace and pursue it.

Implication: Advent invites us to orient ourselves towards Peace.

  2. Anticipate where in your life are you longing for greater Peace.
  3. Prepare the steps you will take to embrace Peace this Advent season.
