About this Episode

In the final sermon of our Advent series, Paule Patterson explains why the birth of Christ should remind us to love, and what that love should look like.

Advent Reading – Zechariah 2:10-13, John 1:9-14

Sermon Notes:
Luke 2:22-35
Isaiah 29:13-14
Matthew 23:23-24
Mark 7:5-9

Implications:

  1. God loves you...and “them.”
  2. When we are more concerned with being right than being loving, the Church begins to fail.
  3. We have to stay on God’s mission, not our own. God’s Kingdom is so much grander than what we often are offended by.
  4. Advent is meant to heal division and incite love, and you cannot love well unless you are in community.
